Broadgreen is a neighbourhood on the fringe of Swindon's town centre.

It's close proximity to both the railway station and the bus station has encouraged the development of a richly diverse community, seeking to benefit from Swindon's dynamic economy.

The tightly terraced Victorian housing, sub divided by a grid pattern of alleyways, lends a 'careworn' appearance to this cosmopolitan neighbourhood.

For many years local people have worked tirelessly to tackle the challenges of social exclusion and anti social behaviour.

In 2008 those challenges are being overcome as a result of the development of 'partnerships' between the Community Council and 'those in authority'.

This 'gateway' to Swindon is changing both phsycally and socially.  Residents now openly state that

"life is better now than a year ago !"
